PATROL ACTIVITY.
ALL SECTORS IN EGYPT. SUCCESSFUL AIR ATTACKS. (Rec. 9.30 «a.m.) LONDON, Oct. 8. Headquarters in the Middle East states: “On Wednesday night our patrols were active in 'all sectors. Yesterday there was nothing to report from our and forces. Fighters and bombers carried out many successful attacks. Two Messerschmitt 109’s were shot - down by fighters. Our longrange bombers shot up a number of targets between Derna and Sidi Barrani, including the seaplane base at Gomba. Enemy aircraft were damaged. One of our aircraft is missing. —British Official Wireless.
Three enemy aircraft were left burning when Royal Air Force medium bombers attacked and dispersed aircraft at the Maleme aerodrome in Crete, says a Cairo message.
