VARIETY EVENING.

BIBLE GLASSES’ FINE EFFORT. I -A variety entertainment was held last evening by the combined Bibleclasses of the St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, to asist in the patriotic effort being made hv the church. Many interesting methods of raising funds were found by the committee and £27 15s was realised. Competitions, produce and cake stalls all contributed a rich quota and an excellent programme of musical and other items helped to entertain the large number who attended. A feature was the exhibition of valuable and rare coins, which were both interesting and instructive. Members of the Girls' Auxiliary and Life Boys lent valuable assistance. A background of music was provided throughout the evening by means of a gramophone and radio loud-speaker.
