FAREWELL GIFTS.
PRESENTATIONS AT WINSLOW. A gathering was hold in the Winslow School room on Saturday afternoon to farewell two residents who are leaving the district. Miss F. Inder, who has been in charge of the school for 41 years, is leaving to .take a position in Oamaru, and Mrs C. Taylor, who is giving up farming, is leaving for Geraldine. Mrs J. R. Lattimoro was in charge .of proceedings. Shoulder sprays and buttonholes were presented to the guests. Handbags containing a snip of money were presented to Miss Inder and Mrs Taylor, and an autograph album and a cup, saucer and plate were presented to the teacher by the scholars. Mr and Airs Inder were the recipients of an electric toaster, and Master and Miss Taylor received brtoks.
Speeches were made by the Rev. H. A. Fountain (Anglican Church), Mrs Fountain (Church Guild), Messrs Kent, Stalker and Pat-trick (district), Mrs A. S. Hayman (Women’s Division).
The programme consisted of vocal solos by Miss E. Lill, vocal duets by Misses Mae and Margery Chapman, a recitation bv Mr M. Lattimore and dances by Miss’ McGregor. The accompanists were Mcsdamcs .Shannon and O’Grady.
