Tho following is an extract from a note found on tho body of a Get man soldier killed in Russia: “Our last mail made an overwhelming impression. The words Cologne and Essen are on everybody’s lips. Relatives write of terrible things. Friedrich was told that life at home had come off the raiis. The people simply could not recover after this dreadiul disaster.’•—British Official Wireless.
