STEPS! TO CONSERVE SUPPLIES. (P A.) WELLINGTON, April ID. Tlio necessity for the conservation ol tho stocks of raw rubber in the country wasi emphasised to night in a. statement by the Minister for Supply (the Hon. I>. G. Sullivan), who referred D a notice published in a, recent Gazette, notifying that tho use of raw rubber was now subject to control. “To achieve conservation,” said the Minister, “tho use of rubber will necessarily he stopped in all eases where it is not deemed essential.” Tho manufacture of many articles would definitely he stopped, and in this category there would doubtless he included many articles which wo had come to look upon as essential. He emphasised that in future the use ol raw rubber would be directed to vitally essential production only.
