DENTZ TO REPORT.

UNPREPAREDNESS OF FRANCE. LONDON, March 22. Vichy has found a new job for General Dentz, formerly High Commissioner in Syria, who had settled flown in occupied France after a virtual retirement. According to the Berlin radio, Admiral Darlan has required General Dentz to inquire into and report upon the circumstances prevailing in the French Army before September, 1929, especially in connection with French nnpreparedness as disclosed in the Riom trials. Dissatisfaction over the turn the Riom trials have taken is expressed in Axis countries. Dr. V. Gayda, the Italian publicist, says that the trials are avoiding the facts and responsibilities and are making deliberate attempts to throw dust in the eyes of the European governments and peoples.'He attacks Marshal Petain, whom he accuses of doing his best to stifle the case against the army, and the failure of the trials to reveal the direct or indirect responsibility of Marshal Petain himself.
