REDUCTION IN ENEMY CONTENT. WELLINGTON, Maroli. 5. The Minister for Health (the Hon. A. H. Nordmeyer) stated to-day on behalf of the Minister for Customs that the effect of the amendment to the Import Certificates Emergency Regulations, 1939, which was gazetted yesterday, is: (1) That certificates of origin and l interest will be required in respect of goods exported to New Zealand from Liberia on and after April 1, 1942; (2) that the percentage of enemy content allowed in goods covered by certificates of origin and interest will be reduced from 25 per cent, to 5 per cent, in respect of goods exported to New Zealand from any neutral country in Europe or from Liberia or Turkey on and after April 1, 1942. The Alinister stated that the reduction in the permitted percentage of enemy content in goods exported from the countries in question had been necessary in. order that stricter control might be exercised in respect of exports from industries in neutral countries with large enemy, interests.
