SENIOR OFFICERS
EFFICIENCY AND ALERTNESS. / BRITISH ARMY COUNCIL ORDER. REPORTS TO BE MADE.
(United Press Association-Copyright.) (Rec. 1.10 p.m.) LONDON, March 4. An Army Council instruction to all commands calls for a report on the efficiency and alertness of all officers upward from the- rank of lieutenantrolonol who were 45 years cf age on December 31 last. The council has issued a statement that it has become evident there are now a number of oftfcors wlio, owing to physical or mental slowness, lack of determination or drive, overstrain or unadaptabilit.v of temperament and character, arc unable to. fully and successfully discharge thou' present duties. These officers should be replaced without delay. The increase in the number of young trained officers makes this possible.
