COLD INCREASING.
BITTER WINTER IN EUROPE (United Press Association—Copyright.) LONDON, January 24. The cold is increasing in severity throughout Europe, after violent snowstorms. Hungary is gripped by intense cold, the lowest temperature having been G 3 degrees below freezing point Fahrenheit. Wolves are invading Translyvanian villages and killing cattle. According to a Basle message, Switzerland has had her coldest day for 100 years, the temperature being 43 degrees below freezing point Faluenlieit. r , .. , London recently experienced uZ degrees of frost.
