WOMEN’S INSTITUTE.

THE WAKANUI MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Wakanni Women’s Institute was held ill the hall, when Mrs Dick presided. Mrs George Brand offered her garden for the children’s Christmas party on Saturday, December 13.

The roll-call was “sing, say or a penny pay,” which was very amusing. It was resolved that a letter of cheer be sefit to Mrs McEachen.

It was decided to have no meeting in January.

Mrs Dick gave a demonstration of floral work.

Competitions resulted: Premier bloom (large), Mrs Kingsbury 1, Mrs Ford 2. Mrs Watson 3, (small), Mrs Moore 1, Mrs Kingsbury 2, Mrs Ford 3; bowl of roses, Mrs Dick 1, Mrs Moore 2; rhubarb, Mrs Kingsbury 1, Mrs Dick 2; vegetables, Mrs Dick 1; lint-loaf, Mrs Kingsbury 1, Mrs Dick 2. The hostesses wore Mrs C. Brand and Mrs Moore.
