WRESTLING.
KATAN DEFEATS BLOMFIELD. (P.A.) AUCKLAND, November 30. “Lofty” Blomfield, of Auckland, lost bis professional wrestling matph with John Katan (Canada) at the Town Hall on Saturday night, in a mostunexpected manner, in the final round. Katan had obtained a submission fall in the fourth round with a reverse figure-four leg scissors, and Blomfield also won a submission fall in the seventh round with an octopus clamp. In the final round Katan had his opponent fastened in a full Nelson, when Blomfield struggled to the corner and hurled himself backwards on top of his attacker. A fall to Blomfield looked certain, when the referee awarded one to Katan, as Blomfield, to obtain a greater leverage, had allowed his own shoulders to stay on the mat for more than the regulation three seconds.
