GARDEN PARTY.

PRESBYTERIANS AT LAGMHGR. The Lagmhor Presbyterian Church garden party was held in the pleasant grounds of the Lagmhor Homestead, on Saturday, when a good gathering oi local residents and visitors assembled. The various stalls were well stocked and all the goods found a ready sale, from which the Church Building Fund will benefit by approximately £4O. The Rev. R. Brown extended a very cordial welcome to Mr T. D. Burnett, M.P., the principal speaker. Mr Burnett, in declaring the function open, spoke of the important place of the 'Church in the world to-day and the duty placed particularly on the mothers in bringing up their children to be worthy citizens of to-morrow. The stallholders were: —Cakes, Mrs Crawford and Miss Crosson; produce, Mrs J. Langdon and Miss Shoate; meat, Mr F. Hookings; fancy, Mrs A. Sheate and Mrs W. McKee; ice-cream, Mrs W. Sheate and Miss D. Langdon; games, Miss Sutton, Miss M. Crosson and Mr J. Crosson.
