POST-WAR PLANS.
AUSTRALIA AND DUTCH INDIES. ' BATAVIA, October 21. Mr van der Plas, who led the recent Netherlands East Indies mission to Australia, has returned home. In a broadcast address he said heavy exploitation work in a difficult country of large spaces had made the Australians powerful, fearless, and industrious people. These qualities and a profound sense of every person s right to live in human dignity had brought about a community in which everyone was equal and everyone had a fair chance. Mr van der Plas reviewed Austrai lia’s war effort. He said Australians were deeply convinced that the Commonwealth and the Netherlands East Indies could build a pillar of strength for the coming peace in that part of the Pacific and assist each other to create a happier, better, and safer exisence for their children and grandchildren.
