PRISONERS OF WAR.
CONDITIONS IN ENEMY CAMPS. NO COMPLAINTS AT TRIPOLI. (Rec. 11.45 p.m.) LONDON, Oct. 16. Recent information regarding the war prisoners camps in Axis countries shows that the new <*mp in Germany, “Stalag three,” on October 2 contained 185 Royal Air Force non-commissioned officers.* It is stated to be well located with the buildings in general adequate. It has recently boon visited and as a result steps are being taken to ensure that such improvements as are necessary shall be effected. There are over 300 British prisoners in Carcarese camp, in Tripoli. The building, which w/IS. a former ballila centre, is in good order and is not overcrowded. There were no complaints when the camp was visited in August. The daily food ration included vegetables and potatoes and either fresh or pickled or salted beans. The men can bathe in the sea as much ns they wish. Work consists of gardening, cobbling, cooking and unloading goods at docks. —•British Official Wireless.
