FLOWER SHOW.

WAKANUI WOMEN’S INSTITUTE. At the September meeting of the Wakanui Women’s Institute (Mrs Dick (president) presided. One new member was welcomed. Mrs Dick outlined the Stratheona scheme for training girls for domestic duty, and members were asked to assist in collecting funds. Competitions resulted: Chow-chow, Mrs C. G. Frampton 1, Mrs Dick 2, Mrs Kingsbury 3; toinato relish, Mrs C. G. Frampton 1, Mrs Dick 2, Miss G. Butterick 3; prettiest handkerchief, Mrs Kingsbury 1, Miss Butterick 2, Mrs G. Biand 3. The hostesses were Mesdames Watson and Cass. A very successful spring flower show was held. Mrs Cflirk (Tinwald) judged the flowers and made the following awards: Mixed shrubs: Mrs G. Brand 1, Mrs C.
