A NEW COMMAND.
EAST AFRICAN AREAS. (Ree. 11.15 a.m.) LONDON, Aug. 20. Jn view of the Virtual termination oi operations in East Africa, states a M ai Offico announcement, and to enable the Commander-in-Chief in the Middle hast to devote his whole attention to lriore active theatres, it has been decided to create a now East African Command directly under the \> ai Office. The new command will include all territories lying between the south ern border of the Sudan and the northern border of Southern Rhodesia. Lieutenant-General Sir William 1 Jntt, hitherto commanding in the Sudan, has been selected to be General Officer Commanding in command. Lieutenant-Gen-eral Sir Alan Cunningham has been transferred to a command in the Middle East.
