MR FRASER’S TOUR.

WELCOME IN RHONDDA VALLEY. LONDON. July 18. The Prime Minister of New Zealand (tho Rt. Hon. P. Fraser), accompanied by the High Commissioner (Mr Jordan) and the Parliamentary Undersecretary. for the Dominions (Mr G. H. Hall) toured the Rhondda Valley, where they wore warmly greeted by cheering crowds. The chairman of the Pcntro Council expressed thanks for gifts of clothes from New Zealand. Mr Fraser replied that the devoted work of the New Zealand women w T as a labour of love for the people of. Britain. Mr Fraser addressed a big, ehoerjng crowd in the Merthyr Town Hall. Later, he was welcomed by the Mayor and councillors. Speakers said that Mr Fraser was welcome, not only as the Prime Minister of Now Zealand, but glso as the distinguished head of the most progressive country in the British Empire, especially in the sphere of social legislation. Mr Fl’aser, replying to the welcome, said he thought he was seeing Wales and Britain at their best when the real soul and spirit of the people were revealed.

Mr Fraser bad luncheon with tho Mayor of Cardiff, and attended a dinner given by the Cardiff Wholesale Cooperative Society. Ho returned to London by car.
