MEDICAL BENEFITS.
DOCTORS AND LODGES.. (P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, July 8. The president of the Canterbury Division of the British Medical Association (Dr. L. C. L. Averill) said that the, information conveyed to the Star of Ashburton Lodge, v U.A.O.D. was in accordance with a unanimous decision of the division about a month ago. It was then decided that if lodges accepted the subsidy for doctors’ benefit from the Social Security Fund the inedical officers concerned would be advised to terminate their agreements. The decision was communicated to the lodges. “What is more,” said Dr. Averill, “all the doctors here were determined that they would do so. They feel very strongly that with so many of their members away this is not the I time to undertake any such medical reorganisation, and that the efforts of everybody should be concentrated on winning the war.”
