AT THE HIGH SCHOOL. A TEMPORARY ARRANGEMENT. Because of the failure of the education authorities and the Public Works Department to take in hand the repair or reconstruction of the heating apparatus at the Ashburton High School in time for the winter; tho chairman of the Board of Governors (Mr W. H. Woods) has put in hand a temporary measure to ensure that the rooms will he reasonably heated when the school resumes next Tuesday morning. , Mr Woods stated this morning that he had arranged for an electrical booster pump to bo installed to force tho heating through the service, and it was hoped that this temporary expedient would serve the purpose till the new work is undertaken, some weeks hence.
