WOMEN’S DIVISION.
THE ASHBURTOM BRANCH. The monthly meeting of the Ashburton branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union opened with a prayer for peace and the Creed. The president (Mrs A. S. Hayman) presided. Two new members wore welcomed.
A vote of sympathy with Airs J. R. Lattimore in her bereavement was carried in silence.
Mrs Menclom gave a demonstration on the structure of a presentation box of flowers. She also gave valuable hints on flower and foliage preservation.
It was decided to charge one shilling for afternoon tea next month, proceeds to go toward the competition prito fund.
Competitions resulted: TCgsloss cake with recipe, Mrs Moaclom 1. Docorfttivo jar of flowers, Mrs Moaclom 1. Truss: Mrs Moaclom 1, Mrs AmoS 2, Mrs Buttorick 3. Spike, Mrs Moaelcm 1, Mrs Buttorick 2. Bloom, Mrs Moaclem 1, “iSrs Amos 2, Mrs Buttorick 3. MosdameS Brown and Amos were hostesses.
