SAVAGE MEMORIAL.

AWARDS IN DESIGN CONTEST (P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The awards in the competition for designs for a memorial at Bastion Point Auckland to the Kt. Hon. M. .T. Savage wero announced t-oclay by the Minister for Internal Affairs (the Hon. W. E. Parry). The first prize of £l5O was Won by Messrs Donnor and Bartlett, Auckland; the second, of £IOO, by W. J. Beech, of Karori, Wellington, and the third, of £3O, by Ml- John Blake Kelly, Auckland. . The memorial is to take t he form of a park and garden of romemblanee, said Mr Parry, with a simple monnmem, symbolic of Mr Savage’s character own the tomb.
