PARIS PRESS ASKS AMERICA.
LONDON, May 19
Tho Vichy correspondent of tho British United Press says a section of the German-controlled : Paris press has opened a concerted campaign urging Mr Roosevelt to mediate in order to end the war by a negotiated peace.
The newspapers assort that the alternative is that the United States will bo drawn into a long war.
