Between. 300 and 400 Britishers in Lisbon are awaiting repatriation, apart from the resident population, and 1500 more are in unoccupied France. Most of the Britishers are drawing a Consular allowance of £lO a month, which is repayable. Seven thousand refugees have booked by sea and the American export line of ships will take a year to clear them. No more bookings are being accepted except for Americans, who have priority on the American export liners.
