PARTING GIFT.
PRESENTATION AT LOWCLIFFE. A five hundred tournament and dance was held in the Lowcliffe School under the auspices of the Women’s Institute'. There was a large attendance, the School being filled to capacity. The proceeds were in aid of soldiers’ parcels and a large sum was received. The winners of cards were All’s D. Bruce and Air Billings.
Opportunity was taken to bid farewell to Mr and Airs AlcKenzio .and family on eve of their departure from the district to take up their residence in. Tirnaru.
Air D. Smith spoke in eulogistic terms of the AlcKenzie family, especially mentioning their association with and help to, the local harmonica band. He presented Aliss Joyce AlcKenzie with a sum of money for herself and her brother^.
Air E. Gross made a presentation! to Air AlcKenzie on behalf of the Cricket Club.
Music for dancing was supplied by the Coldstream Harmonica Band. Mr W. Gibbs was M.C.
