( y The latest reports from the Balkans indicate that the German thrust which developed down the Vardar Valley has now reached Salonika. / Yugoslav troops are falling back in the south-eastern portion of the country, and the Germans claim to have captured the important town of Skoplje, and to have taken much material here and at Nis. ; ’ ■ It is stated that owing to the German advance, communications have been cut off between Turkey and Greece. A Royal Air Force communique says that in spite of unfavourable weather, Royal Air Force formations attacked German motor transport and troop concentrations in south-east Yugoslavia. Several reconnaissance flights were also earned out Ail the British planes returned safely.
