THE STOCK SALES. aldington. (%>.) .CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. At tfhe Addington stock sale yesterday, though there, were no spectacular advances there was a sound sale. Larger entries cf fat sheep stabilised prices in that section, and most of tho sliaVp advance created last week by the sryiall penning was lost. Store sheep shoiVcd little change in values for the host, but others were a little easier. Fat lambs sold at up to full schedule rates. Fat cattle declined slightly or the higher rates recorded last week Porkers met with a sharp decline, hm a small entry of bnconers improved in values-by f>s a head. Nearly 4000’fat sheep were yarded, prices being as follow: —Extra prime heavy wethers, to 3.1 s lOd; prime heavy wethers, 28s. to 31:s .‘od ; prime mediumweight wethers, 25s to 27s <kl; ordinary. withers, 22s 6d to 24s (id ; light \vothers, to 225; extra prime heavy, to 275. lOd'; -prime ‘heavy ewes, 19s dd to 22s Gd; prime medium-weight owes, 15s 6d to 19s; ordinary owes, 12s (id to los; light owes, to 12s. In the store sheep section the best of the crossbred two-tooths made from 30s to 365, with medium from 22s to 295, and inferior down "to 14s. FinewoolloU two-tooth made from 21s to 245-for the best, with medium from •17s to, 20s 6d, and culls down to 8s 6d. Rest, four-year crossbreds made 14s to 2Qs,>with.medium worth 10s to 13s 6d, and culls clown, to ss. Best four-year haifbfeds made to los 3d, with medium from 8s to 12s, and inferior down to 4s. " Tile entry of fat lambs approximated 2000 "head,* the. largest for some time. Quality was' mixed, and! although, the new restriction brought in against killing 261b>.and under lambs for export, removed this .-class from exporters’ competition, ...there was a considerable showing,'of light sorts forward. Export yalues were- fully maintained, and butchers’ lambs were practically up to the rates of last sale. The market, however,' was scarcely as spirited as that bf'dast week. . The 457 fat cattle realised the following prices;—Extra, prime heavy steers, tp -£l9 12s 6d; prime heavy steers. £ls los to £l7 15s; prime mediumweight steers, £l3 10s to £ls 15s; or'dihary steers, £9 los to £l2 15s; light jjjteCVs, t() £9 10s.; extra prime heifers, to £l4. 2s ; 6d; prime heifers, £9 los to ■£ll ss; medium heifers, £7 to £9 ss; light heifep’s, to £6 los; extra prime cows; to £l3 7s 6d; prime cows, £7 .lfii ,to £9 IDs; medium cows, £5 15s to £7 10s; light and aged cows, to £5 10s. There, was a small entry of store cattle, and it included few straight lines of young sorts, but the few there were met with a-Tree-sale. A ; medium entry of .1505 fat sheep was forward, the bulk being medium quality ewes, with a sprinkling of prime wethers and ewes. The price for prime * wethers was on a par with the last sale; while all other classes met with a decline of from Is 6d to 2s 6d a head. Eteist wethers made to 30s, prime from 24s t0.27s (id, medium from 20s to 22s 6d, prime.from 10s 6d to 18s, medium from 7s 6d. In the fat lamb section an entry of 975 was penned. The quality was not good. Best lambs made to 30s, prime from 23s 6d to 265, medium 20s 6d to 225, and light from 18s. Thpre was a medium yarding of 132 fab pigs, mostly porkers. The sale was on a . par. with last week’s rates, best bacotters making to £5 4s. Porkers sold from £2 10s to £3 12s.
