SILENT PRAYER.

DAILY IN THE DOMINION.

PERIOD AT 9 EACH EVENING

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Governor-General and the Minister commend the adoption in New Zealand of the practice in Britain of daily silent prayer. Mr Fraser announced that arrangements have been made for the recording of the striking chimes of Big Ben over all stations, National and Commercial, at 9 p.m., so that during that time, as commended by the King, the people of New Zealand may join in spirit with the people of the United Kingdom by spending this time in silent prayer.
