UNLABELLED BUTTER.

GROCERS FINED AT TEMUKA. (P.A.) TEMUKA, April 8, “The public have a right to know what they are buying and butter should be labelled,” said the Magistrate (Mr H. Morgan, S.M.) at the Temuka Magistrate’s Court to-day. when fining Gapper and Sheen, grocers, of Temuka, £1 for selling butter insufficiently labelled. Sergeant M. E. Hill said that the health inspector had previously drawn tho firm’s attention to the need to comply with regulations. T. E. Sheen, who appeared for the firm, said tho butter was separator butter which had come from farms in the district and his assistant had neglected to attach proper labels before offering it for sale.
