DESERTION FROM SHIP. (P.A ) AUCKLAND, April 8. “To desert your ship, especially in those days, is a grave matter and cannot be passed oyer lightly,” said Mr J. Molding, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court to-day when he sentenced Dennis Ferquhart Archie Gordon Grant, aged 28, to one month’s imprisonment for deserting a British ship on March 31. Grant pleaded guilty,and had nothing to say. • : .
