NAVAL SHIPS AIACHINE-GUNNED

(Rec. 1.0.10 la.m.) LONDON, April 2

An Air Ministry communique says: “Rain and low cloud hampered our patrols searching the coasts of France and the Low Countries for enemy shipping during daylight yesterday. Some small naval vessels were discovered and machine-gunned. Other aircraft carried out. low-leved attacks on coastal gun emplacements.

“One of our aircraft yesterday tor'pedocd an enemy merchant ship off the coast of Denmark.

“One of our aircraft is missing from yesterday’s operations.”—British Official Wireless.
