STRICKLAND COMING HOME (Ree. 1.5) SYDNEY, This Day. Maurice Strickland lias decided to return to New Zealand. For about five minutes in the ring with Carmen! Barth (United States) he received £4OO, the amount of his guarantee. The fight resulted in a loss of £4OO to Stadiums Limited. “We will lie back again in six weeks,” said Strickland’s manager (J. Crowley), “and will bring With us the Now Zealand middle-weight and lightweight champion, Cliff Hanhairi. 1 really think Barth caught Strickland’ off his balance and a. push-punch sent the latter through the ropes on to his head. The Australians did not see the real Strickland.”
