BASKETBALL.

THE ST. STEPHEN’S CLUB.

NEW OFFICERS ELECTED. Three teams are to be entered in the Ashburton Basketball Association’s competition, according to a decision of the annual meeting of the St. Stephen’s Basketball Club last evening. In the absence of the president (the Rev. C. L. Motintfort) Mrs Mahoney presided over an attendance of 12 members.

The following officers were elected:— President, the Rev. C. L. Mountfort; vice-presidents, Mesdaines Spedding, Mahoney, Fulton, Connor and Charles,Messrs Clarke, Biggar, and Husband; secretary and treasurer, Mrs F. Husband; committee, Misses J. Spedding, R. Taylor, T. AVliinham, H. Hickey and M. White; club captain, Mrs F. Husband ; delegates to Association, Misses Spedding and Taylor. It was decided to hold the first practice on Thursday, April 17.
