OBITUARY.

THE OLDEST BOY SCOUT. ( (United Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, Mar. 26. Tho death of Colonel Sir Lancelot Rolleston, who is believed to be the oldest Boy Scout, is announced. Sir Lancelot Rolleston fought in the war in South Afrfa*. Ho was 94 years old.

MRS W. H. JACKMAN. A former resident of the Ellesmere district, Mrs W. H. Jackman, died recently at her home, Rutland Street, St. Albans, at the age of 68. A daughter of the late Mr Joseph Doyle, who settled in the Ellesmere district in 1867. and after-whom Doyleston was named, Mrs Jackman spent her early life at Doyleston. After her marriage to Mr W. H. Jackman about 45 years ago, their first home was at Lower Lake road, near Doyleston, hut later they moved to Loeston.

Shortly after Mr Jackman’s death 13 years ago, Mrs Jackman went to Christchurch. She is survived by afamily of throe daughters four sons —Mrs J. Ramsay, of Ashburton, is a daughter, and Mr S. M. Jackman, of Methven, a sou.
