ENGLISH TOWN FIRED ON ENEMY REPORTS OF ACTIVITY (Bee. 1.50 p.m.) LONDON, Mar. 7. A north Midlands town was machinegunned from a low level hv German raiders this afternoon. A German communique claims that a. bomber carried out a daring lowlevel attack on aircraft works at Filton. -Heavy bombs destroyed construction hangars and several finish 3d planes were damaged by cannon. One person was killed and several injured when a raider bombed an East Anglian town. Several houses were wrecked and many people were buried under the debris. An Italian communique says: “Our troops repelled an enemy attack at Kurmuk German planes attacked marching columns in North Africa and destroyed 20 motor vehicles. They also bombed camps and hutments in the neighbourhood of Deni a , where fires were started. Other German bombers raided Malta.”
