MISSIONARY UNION.
ST. ANDREW’S ACTIVITIES There was a large attendance of members and visitors at. a meeting of the St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Women’s Missionary Union yesterday afternoon. The president (Mrs It. S. Watson) presided. Motions of sympathy with the relatives of the late Mrs Hockings and with Mrs Lloyd in the death of a relative were carried in silence. Letters received from missionaries’ wives expressed appreciation of money sent by the Union, at Christmas time. Miss G. Riddle, of Carew 1 , gave an interesting a depress on India. THE MAYFIELD 'PRESBYTERIANS. The monthly meeting of the Mayfield Presbyterian Women’s Missionary Union was held recently, when the president (Mrs -1. S'. Freeman) presided over a lair attendance. It was agreed that a letter of cheer he sent to Mrs D. Edmond, of New Brighton, a former member, who is ill.. Two missionary letters were read, one from the Manse, Johnsonville, and the other from Sister Annie, of Runtali un a. Mrs Freeman read some very interesting extracts from the book by the Rev. A. Smith, “The Uplift of China.” Arrangements wore made for the garden party at the Manse, on April 2.
