SECRET SITTING.

HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. TO DISCUSS WAR SITUATION. (P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. A secret, sitting, of the House of Representatives is likely to be held next Thursday, the day following the opening of Parliament, to enable members to hear and discuss in private the latest developments in connection with the war. This was announced in;an.interview with the Prime Minister (theRt. Hon. P. Fraser) who said that if it suited the convenience of the House tlio secret session could be held on Thursday of next week, when the war situation, particularly as it affected Great Britain, the Near East and the Pacific could be reviewed. The war effort generally of New Zealand could also bo discussed. After Parliament was opened on. Wednesday by the Governor-General, said Mr Fraser, the ceremony would be followed by a brief sitting of the House. The‘debate'on the Addrcss-in-R eply was expected-to begin when the House resumed the following week.
