FOUR AUSTRALIAN STATIONS.

JEHOVAH: WITNESS’ SESSIONS

(Received This Day, 1.35 p.m.) SYDNEY, This Day.

Four Australian commercial broadcasting stations which include, a Jehovah’s Witness session in their programmes have been cut off the air. The stations are: 2HD Newcastle, 4AT Atherton (Queensland), SKA Adelaide, and SAU Port Augusta. The Postmaster-General (Senator McCleay) said that action against the stations followed thorough investigation at the instance of one of the fighting services. He was unable to give any more information. Gordon Edwards (announcer at 2HD and a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment for refusing to take the oath under compulsory military training . regulations.
