Tanks and big guns continue rumbling in an unending stream across the Western Desert toward Tobruk. High British military circles declare that operations in the Tobruk area are proceeding to their utmost satisfaction. $ The Khartoum correspondent of the “Daily Mail” supplies evidence of the activities of Allied forces in another African theatre. Eight Free French cavalrymen were trotting along the rpad between Gallabat and Kassala when 40 Italian cavalrymen bounded round the corner. The Italians reined in when they saw the Frenchman, who drew their swords and charged, routing the Italians killing four and taking eight prisoner.
