FAREWELL GIFT.
PRESENTATIONS TO DR. TODD Accommodation, at the Rotherham Hall proved inadequate when the people of Amuiri met at a dance to bid farewell to ‘Dr. and Mrs W. Guildford Todd, who are leaving the district to reside in Ashburton. Dr. Todd has been in Amuri for the last five years and has taken a- keen, interest in all local activities, particularly in Red Cross work. IHe has given a great deal of his time in training V.A.D.’s for the district, being honorary lecturer at weekly classes held in Waiau and Oulverden. /Dr. and Mrs Todd have also been staunch supporters of sports clubs, being active members of the golf and tenuis clubs.
In conveying the good wishes of the Amuri people to Dr. and Mrs Todd, Mr R. B. Henderson presented them with a cheque, and an initialled pug, and a gift from the hospital staff. Mrs M. Bothell presented a gift from the Red Cross Society, and Mr L. H. Davison asked Dr. and Mrs Todd to accept a. gift from the Amuri iGolf Club. Mr W. V. Moekett spoke for the Culverden people and Mr P. R. Dcarden for the people of Waiau.
