TURKEY WILL FIGHT.
EVENT OF MOVE BY GERMANY.
ASSISTANCE FOR THE GREEKS.
(United Press Association—Copyright.) (Received This Day, 1.30 a.m.) ISTANBUL, January 7.
Officials reaffirmed that if German forces moved across Bulgaria to attack Greece Turkey will fight. Military observers at Sofia believe that floods in iSouth-Eastern Bulgaria have made impossible large-scale military operations in tliat region, even concentrations on the Turkish side of the frontier.
Diplomats in Bulgaria consider that Turko-Russian resistance to the German push is still likely in spite of German reports to the contrary. The secretary to the Soviet Legation said: “The report that the Soviet concurs in the German entry into Bulgaria is entirely unknown and generally not clear to me. Too many reports and rumours about Russia should not bo taken seriously.”
