FACTORY KNIGHTHOOD

WORKERS PRESENT AT CEREMONY (United Press Association—Copyright.) LONDON, January 6. The King and Queen visited Sheffield to-day and toured the areas which suffered damage and casualties iu a night raid three weeks ago. Their Majesties were warmly welcomed by a crowd which included many bereaved and homeless. As well as talking to many groups in the streets, their Majesties also visited the industrial area of the town.

At the works of Thomas Firth and John Brown, the managing director, Mr Allan Grant, who was knighted in the New Year’s honours, knelt before the King who, borrowing a sword from an equerry, performed the timehonoured 1 ritual amidst the applause of the workers.
