TENNIS TOURNAMENT TO-DAY

The athletic sports meeting of the NeAV Zealand Anglican Bible Class Union Avas held in the Ashburton Domain yesterday afternoon. St. Peter s - Class (Ternuka), Avith 50 points, and St. • Augustine (Cashmere), with 45 points, ■ are leading in the senior competition for the Ternuka Shield. The cross-country ■ run, Avhich counts in the competition, l Avill be held on Thursday evening. In i the junior competition for the Patteson Banner Eastbourne has 53 points and Ashburton 21 points. The Rev. O. L. Mountfort (Vicar of St. Stephen’s) spoke to the campers ' last evening on “Missionary Life as a Vocation,” and the Ekw. C. E. B. ; Muschamp spoke briefly on the “Church of England.” A tennis tournament Avas held this morning, the final of the singles being Avon by Coursey (Cashmere), Avho beat J. F. Collins (Merivale), 9-6. The swimming sports Avere held lat 6 this afternoon, when the Julius and Sehvyn Cups Avere competed for. All the campers Avill attend the pictures this evening and to-morrow will go to Caroline Bay, Tjmaru, for a picnic..
