ST. JAMES THEATRE. A splendid double-feature programme concludes with to-night’s performance. Seething with thrills and abundant with catchy songs, “Git Along Little Dogies” stars the popular Gene Autry and ranks as a notable addition to his releases. Smiley Burnette supplies excellent comedy and the Maple Four .combine to result in entertainment well worth anybody’s time and money. In the associate feature “Maisie” M-G-M have produced a surprise picture, it is one of those things, that just happens to appeal to all tastes—a mixture of happy players, a good story and good direction—the answer coming to-—excellent entertainment. Robert Young, Ann So them, lan Hunter, Ruthy Hussey and Cliff Edwards have the stellar roles.

A cast headed by such celebrities as Allan Jones, Mary Martin and Walter Connolly, 28 of the unforgettable melodies written by Victor Herbert, and a rousing romance of the show world of the early 1900’s will be on the bill of fare to-morrow when Paramount presents its new musical drama, “The Great Victor Herbert.” Some of Victor Herbert’s best-remembered songs — about two dozen of them—intersperse the story. Among them are such allround favourites as “A Kiss in the Dark,” “Ah, Sweet Mystery of Life,”, “Kiss Mo Again,” and “I’m Falling in Love With Someone.” In order that you get the fullest enjoyment out of the motion picture “The Great Victor Herbert,” it is essential that you see it right from the beginning. This is because of the picture’s unusual ending—an ending which will surprise and thrill you.
