LARGE QUANTITIES OF STORES.
OFFENSIVE NOT AT AN END
LONDON, December 19
Italian prisoners taken in the "Western Desert were well in excess of 30,000, said Mr Churchill to-day, and 100 serviceable guns, ■ 50 tanks, and great quantities of stores had been taken. -Up to Monday night fewer than 1000 British soldiers had been killed and .wounded.
The fighting was.steadily proceeding. The attack mi Bardia was being made with strong and increasing forces, and he believed that the situation was developing favourably. The offensive was not by any means at an end, and the results would permit a bolder view to be taken.
