ALLENTON OPENING CARNIVAL.
THE PROGRAMME LAST EVENING
Fine but chilly -weather prevailed for the op/ening carnival of the Allenton Swimming Club last evening. There were large entries and keen close swimming was witnessed by a small attendance of the public. The patron (Mr L. It. Clarke) officially declared the season open. He appealed to the public to support the car-' nivals and to junior swimmers to keep the club going while senior members were on military service.
