WOMEN’S INSTITUTE.
THE LAURISTON MEETING. The December meeting oi the Lauriston Women’s Institute was presided over by the vipe-president (Miss L. Maidens), the attendance ol members being large. Corporal T. Hawkins, who is serving overseas, wrote thanking memheis foi the good gifts lie had received. It was decided to hold the next meeting in February. MY F. A. Anderson demonstrated, m an artistic manner, the decorating of a Christmas cake, and was accorded a hearty vote of appreciation. Competitions, judged by Mosdames McKee, .T. Hall, A. Goodwin and Miss A. Callender, resulted:—Print apron, Mrs C. A. Fyfe 1, Miss Hampton 2. Mrs McKio .3; bloom, Mrs R. Bebbihgton 1, Mrs C. A. Fyfe 2, Mrs V. Bong 3j vase of flowers, Mrs C. A. Fyfe 1, firs R. Behhington 2, Mrs W. Gimson and Miss Joyce Hayward (equal) 3. The hostesses wore Mosdames W. Gimson, R. Bebbington and Miss M. Fairey.
