BOMBS ON BERNE.
STRONG PROTEST TO BRITAIN
(United Press Association—Copyright.)
BASLE, December 18
The Government is satisfied that British bombs were dropped on Berne on Monday, and has protested to Britain, and claimed full compensation:.
It. is emphasised that the protest xvas strongly worded because a. full moon and snow made visibility perfect. The Swiss radio bus reported that foreign aeroplanes repeatedly violated Swiss territory the other night. The incursions occurred in a south-easterly direction near a route the SRoyal Air Force frequently uses.
Anti-aircraft defences went into action at several places and) fighter aeroplanes went in pursuit of the machines.
