TERRIFIC RESISTANCE MET (Received This Day, 1.15 p.m.) LONDON, December 18. .British mechanised forces, led by bombing planes, are reported to have broken through the fortified perimeter around Bardia.

Hard fighting continues in the Bardia sector. The Italians are netting up terrific resistance, but the line of forts around , the outer defences have been penetrated at some points.
