FATAL ACCIDENTS.
MAN THROWN FROM HORSE.
(Per Rress Association). AUCKLAND, December 18
Thrown from a horse while rounding up cattle in the Helensville stockyard at midnight om Tuesday, Mr Arnold McLeod, aged 51, died in the Auckland Hospital early this morning. His skull had been fractured. PATIENT FALLS 40 FEET AUCKLAND, December 18. The death occurred in hospital this morning of Mr Henry William Thompson, aged 76, married, a bootmaker, of Morningside, who was seriously injured in a fall of 40 feet on an asphalt path, from a third floor window at the hospital last night. He was admitted to hospital as a surgical case a few days ago. A nurse saw Mr Thompson on the window ledge, but could not prevent him from falling. ~
BOY OF ELEVEN SHOT.
WANGANUI, December 18
Andrew Gordon Martin, aged 11 years, No. 3 Line, Wanganui, was accidentally shot at his home this afternoon, by a younger brother, Colin aged nine. It appears that the two brothers and another boy found a shotgun in the house, and when the younger brother was handling it, it went off, the charge penetrating the elder boy’s back. Death was instantaneous.
