WELLINGTON, December 17
Mr Leslie Lefeaux, governor of the Reserve Bank, discussed with the Parliamentary Labour Party caucus for more than two hours questions of financial and economic interest to the Dominion during the last fivo years, said the Minister for Finance (the Hon. W. Nash). Mr Lefeaux also gave a statement about the present position of tho Dominion as ho saw it. He was asked, and answered, a number of questions, and at the conclusion was accorded an enthusiastic vote of thanks. . This is the first intimation that Mr Lefeaux’s appointment, which, according to the statute, was for seven years, expiring on December 31, 1940, is not to be renewed. Asked whether the Goveimment had a successor in mind, Mr Nash said that was a question the GoveiTiment had yet to consider.
